Residential Fire Alarm

To sleep soundly, you need peace of mind. You need to know that what you value most-your home and your family are safe and secure. According to statistics, homes without alarm systems are three times as likely to be broken into as those that do. The facts are in-security systems are effective in preventing loss of life and protecting property. Like millions of others, you’ve realized that your peace of mind is what matters the most, and are considering purchasing a home security system.

A home fire alarm system is usually part of a total security system providing burglary protection in addition to fire protection. Such a system supervises doors, windows, and spaces within the home for break-in and may provide monitoring services by dialing your telephone to report a fire or intrusion to a security office, where it will be reported to your local police or fire department.
When your alarm is activated and then triggered by an event like a burglary or fire, Guardian immediately goes into action:

• Your home security monitoring system instantly sends a signal to the Central Monitoring Station, prompting our highly trained agents to react by contacting you via two-way voice or by phone.

• The Monitoring Station Operator will ask you to provide your password. In case you accidentally set off your system, Guardian will clear the alarm from any emergency dispatch.

• If Guardian is unable to contact you; if the monitoring station receives the wrong password; if your specified contact telephone line is busy; or if we have reason to suspect trouble at your home, we’ll dispatch the proper authorities to directly assess the situation.

FAQ’s

Do I need an alarm permit where I live? If so, how do I obtain a permit?

Possibly. Some cities and jurisdictions require home security system owners to have an alarm permit before they will send emergency personnel to your home. In some areas, it is unlawful to have monitoring service without first having a permit, which could result in fines up to $500 per dispatch. To determine if your city requires a permit, contact your local city hall, county office, or Gaurdian Security Systems.

Why we need a Residential Fire Alarm System?

The primary advantage of a home fire alarm system is increased reliability and the ability to place alarms and bells exactly where needed. Residents with security systems can save the fire department the hassle of a false alarm and themselves, and the City.
These are the only way to obtain remote monitoring services. This plays an important role in cases where family members may not be capable of escaping from a fire without assistance.. If you have an older or physically impaired person in your home and a fire started when no one was home to assist that person, alarms alone might not be enough to assure their safety.
If your residence incurs a “small” house fire, e.g. food burning on a stove, clothes burning in a dryer, which is extinguished by the resident without placing an alarm, consider requesting aid from the fire department in smoke removal in order to minimize permanent and expensive smoke damage to your home interior.

Does my home have to be pre-wired for an alarm system?

No. Guardian Security Systems can install both hardwired and wireless home security systems to meet your needs.

What happens if I have an existing non-Guardian system in my home?

Guardian can reprogram your existing system, as long as the previous homeowner is not contractually obligated with another alarm monitoring company.

Can I save money on my homeowners insurance by having a security system?

Yes, some insurance companies provide up to a 20% discount on your homeowners insurance by having a security system. Please check with your insurance company for more information.

How does alarm monitoring work?

When you activate your security system, alarm monitoring is a 24-hour, 7-day protection service. When one of your alarm’s sensors are triggered by an event such as a break-in or environmental hazard, your alarm signals the Central Alarm Monitoring Station. A highly trained Central Station Operator will activate emergency procedures, which include contacting you and dispatching emergency services.

What is Two-Way Interactive Voice Verification?

Guardians are the industry leader in two-way, interactive audio voice verification. That’s a fancy way of saying that, when your security system’s alarm is activated, it allows for live, hands-free communication with one of our monitoring center operators from anywhere in your home. (Two-way voice verification is an essential component of modern alarm system technology, but many of our competitors don’t offer it.)

Through a hands-free, two-way speaker system, you can talk with the Guardian monitoring center to alert us of your emergency or situation. Because you’re the only one who can activate the system, your privacy is maintained – and you’re in charge, because Two-Way Interactive Audio Verification can’t happen unless you choose to initiate the system or the alarm is triggered.

When an active carbon monoxide detector, smoke / fire alarm, or burglar alarm is triggered, or when you choose to activate the interactive audio system, you are quickly connected to the Guardian Monitoring Center who can react to your call and stay with you through the whole event.
